Road trip

Today I agreed to help Julian out and go to Ikea with him. Part of the reason I agreed was because I wanted to ride in his itsy bitcy clown car. To the left you can see Julian; he is approximately as tall as the car is long. I think he must feel like a Shriner in it (he didn't understand about Shriners and their tiny cars, and I don't blame him).
Despite the fact that it's a balmy February, I would never have agreed to putting the top down, except that Julian sees the lights so much better when he can stick his head out the top of the car. You can see the tassel on his hat blowing in the wind when he drives past you. Lucky me, I had a hat and gloves along too.

Really, though, the funniest thing about this car is that it has exactly the same smell as Rosie Thompson's old brown Karmann Ghia. Does anyone (Sarah?) remember that car?
Surprisingly, Julian's knees don't quite touch the steering wheel. Luckily, we only bought a few small kitchen things at Ikea, but I really can't understand how he moved in that thing. I guess it's a good car for minimalists....
