Rob is here!

I've gotten a few complaints about the long pause between posts here. My first good excuse is that Rob is here to visit. He got in last Thursday evening and will be here until Sunday! We have been out and about as much as we can with my work schedule, visiting the museums and the markets and the cathedrals and stuff. Today we spent an hour standing in line to get to the top of the TV tower in Alexanderplatz. Also, we've spent some time being lost. As it turns out, I'm not that great a tour guide, because the tourist areas are so expensive that I don't go there much. Rob thought that was funny, so he took a picture of me being lost:
Note the bundled look. This is NOT Berlin fashion. It's really just that cold. It happened all of a sudden, so those of you in cold places will forgive me for being a teensy bit shocked and sad that winter is really here.
In other shocking news (and this is my second good excuse for not having posted more lately!), Inga found out a few days ago that she's pregnant. She and her boyfriend, Patrick, have decided to keep the baby, but it's been quite the crisis atmosphere around here recently. More on this as it develops. Meanwhile, Julian, the other roommate, is still in the hospital after skewering himself on a piece of scaffolding (or something) in a construction site about three weeks ago. More on this too, if he ever gets out.
Hopefully this bad luck is not contagious. Keep your fingers crossed for me (or thumbs pressed, if you're German)!

I'm not German, but thumb pressing sounds way cooler than finger crossing.

If Inga needs some counseling, tell her to call me...
