A few of my favorite things
- Berlin Style: makes me feel better about my own packed-too-lightly, haven't-done-laundry-in-a-month fashion statements.
- Sunrises: being this far north makes it easier to get up and see them, and lately I've been running along the canal by my house in the morning. Makes for an especially impressive start to the day.
- Higher Education: My personal statement essay for grad school has been transformed. I've discovered it's much easier to write once I can shift the focus from me and how great I am (which is always difficult for me to write about convincingly) to all the cool research I want to do.
- Opera.
My least favorite thing right now is Lucy the cat:
This is the darling angel she usually is, but at the moment she's in heat. A big thumbs down for unspayed housepets. Just consider yourself lucky that I can't put sound bytes on this thing. Anybody know how long this usually lasts?

Ummm...if you breed her its about 4-7 days. Longer if you don't but the plus side is no kittens. I've heard of some things you can do but they sound like they would end badly for you and the cat.
